Australian gov’t launches real-time data portal in Queensland

The platform provides updates on 25 major emergency departments and seven satellite hospitals.

The Australian government in Queensland has launched a new portal providing real-time data on the performance of the state’s 25 major emergency departments and seven satellite hospitals.

The ‘Open Hospitals’ platform updates key metrics, such as median patient wait times and the number of patients triaged but awaiting treatment, every 15 to 30 minutes.

In its first 24 hours of operation, 5,735 users accessed the system. The most viewed hospitals were Logan, Ipswich, Princess Alexandra, and Royal Brisbane Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
