Australia to open seventh satellite hospital in Bribie Island
The facility is set to provide urgent care for non-life-threatening conditions.
Australia is set to launch a satellite hospital to provide free healthcare services at Bribie Island, serving as the seventh of its kind in the Queensland state.
The Bribie Island Satellite Hospital Minor Injury and Illness Clinic will provide urgent care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
Moreover, it will include an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health hub, kidney dialysis services, a day medical treatment unit, and other services.
“This will make the lives of locals so much easier, knowing that help for those scary but non-life-threatening situations is right here on the Island, while also alleviating pressure on busy emergency departments,” Queensland Premier, Steven Miles, said.
Meanwhile, the hospital plans to offer cancer care, oral health, and allied health services by early 2025.
