Australia invests $3.2m in Aboriginal-led health programmes for children
The programmes aim to provide culturally safe healthcare.
The Australian government in Victoria is investing $3.2m (A$5.2m) to support three Aboriginal-led pilot programmes, which will be rolled out by Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations starting in February.
The programmes aim to provide culturally safe healthcare for Aboriginal children, focusing on early identification and treatment of health issues.
The funding also enables the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation to design healthcare models tailored to critical health and wellbeing needs.
Moreover, a professional network will be established to provide Aboriginal kinship carers with resources and guidance to improve care.
