Australian gov’t establishes local health service networks in Victoria
They are scheduled to begin operations on 1 July.
The Australian government is set to establish Local Health Service Networks across Victoria.
The networks, grouped by geographic regions, aim to enhance collaboration amongst health providers, streamline referral pathways, and improve waitlist management.
Health services will convene early this year to outline priorities for their respective networks, focusing on access and patient flow, workforce development, clinical governance, and sustainability.
Proposed initiatives include improving referral pathways, attracting and retaining staff, and consolidating support services to minimise duplication.
Community and workforce consultations will be also conducted in the same year.
The networks are scheduled to begin operations on 1 July.
