Australia introduces new healthcare service for streamlined elderly care

The facility includes an inpatient unit with 15 beds.

Australia’s Brighton Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) service will offer streamlined care support for the elderly community in Brisbane North through its new facility on the Brighton Health Campus.

The facility features a 15-bed inpatient unit and is a stand-alone, sub-acute facility within the Metro North Health Service.

Its operations will focus on restoring the physical and cognitive function of patients impaired by complex medical conditions or chronic diseases.

Services include cognitive, restorative, and functional assessments, rehabilitation, and dementia management.
