Australia allocates $65.5m for biomedical and medtech advancements

The funding supports three companies that will target projects within their expertise.

The Australian government has awarded approximately $65.5m (A$100m) in funding to three organisations for emerging biomedical and medical technology advancements.

The selected companies are Brandon BioCatalyst, ANDHealth Pty Ltd, and Biointelect Pty Ltd.

The chosen organisations will support small and medium-sized enterprises developing new medical products and services intended for commercialisation.

Each company will target projects within its area of expertise, including new or repurposed medicines, digital health technologies, and new medical devices.

The funding is provided under the Medical Research Future Fund’s Medical Research Commercialisation Initiative.
