Aster DM to invest $66.1m in 500-bed hospital in Bengaluru
This will increase the group’s total bed capacity in the city to 2,580.
Aster DM Healthcare has announced a $66.1m (₹580 crore) investment to develop a 500-bed multi-speciality hospital in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru.
The hospital will be Aster’s fifth facility in the city, increasing the group’s total bed capacity to 2,580.
It is expected to be operational in the second half of FY 2028-2029.
The facility, with a planned built-up area of about 500,000 square feet, will be on a built-to-suit model.
“The new hospital reflects our asset-light expansion approach,” said Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare.
The group has signed an agreement to lease with Kemwell Pvt. Ltd., for the hospital’s development under a long-term lease of 30 years, with provisions for renewal.
“Over the next few years, we aim to significantly increase our presence across South India by entering new cities and strengthening our footprint in existing ones,” Moopen added.
