The Korean hospital plans to introduce its heavy ion therapy system by 2031.

South Korea’s Asan Medical Center has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) Hospital on the use of heavy ion therapy.

The partnership follows the Korean hospital’s plans to introduce its heavy ion therapy system by 2031.

Under the MoU, QST Hospital will provide support and technical cooperation to assist the centre during its preparation and implementation phase.

Key areas include professional training, patient exchange, and clinical research.
