APAC to face 11.1% medical trend increase in 2025: report
It will see the second-highest medical trend rate increase, after the Middle East and Africa.
The Asia Pacific (APAC) region’s medical trends are projected to see an 11.1% increase in 2025, according to an Aon plc. report.
The report revealed that APAC is expected to experience the second highest year-over-year medical trend rate increase, behind the Middle East and Africa.
The rise is attributed to a higher incidence of cancer and chronic conditions post-pandemic, said Alan Oates, head of global benefits for Asia Pacific at Aon.
Moreover, factors such as prescription and speciality medications, medical technology innovations, and geopolitical events are driving medical trend rates in the region.
Emotional health support, wellbeing initiatives, and plan enhancements are also contributing to the upward trend.
