AI-driven healthcare needs to be generation inclusive: GlobalData
A recent survey showed the younger generation is more familiar with AI.
Data and analytics firm, GlobalData, found that younger patients aged 18 to 55 years old are more likely to be confident with AI compared to older patients.
“Younger generations tend to be introduced to technology earlier in their life and as a result have more knowledge as well as confidence in technologies like AI,” said GlobalData.
Whilst AI adoption is inevitable, Urte Jakimaviciute, Senior Director of Market Research at GlobalData, it should still be inclusive, adding that there should be a fair and ethical AI system that has intergenerational collaboration.
“AI use will need to address generation-wide issues, and therefore it is essential to ensure that all generations can benefit from the adoption of AI,” said Jakimaviciute.
Of those polled, 60% were either very or quite comfortable with using healthcare facility that uses AI, whilst, of the ones who were not familiar with AI, only 7% were.
Over 574 patients from the US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Japan, Brazil, Canada, India, and Mexico were polled between July 2023 and August 2023.
