Abu Dhabi’s SKMC earns Canadian accreditation for medical residencies

Three programmes have received accreditation from the RCCI.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has announced that three medical residency programmes at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) have received accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCCI).

SKMC, part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company and a subsidiary of PureHealth, is the first in the emirate to secure RCCI recognition for its training programmes.

Resident physicians who complete the requirements of the accredited programmes are eligible to sit for the Royal College examinations in the relevant specialities. Successful candidates will be eligible for the Royal College Fellowship.
