$168m Port Macquarie Base Hospital upgrade progresses with new project team

The project’s final scope will be determined during the planning and design phase

The $168m (A$265m) Port Macquarie Base Hospital upgrade in New South Wales has progressed with a new project team to lead planning, according to the Australian government.

Turner and Townsend have been selected as project managers, whilst Altus will serve as cost managers following a competitive tender process.

Furthermore, the team will collaborate with Health Infrastructure and the Mid North Coast Local Health District to begin early planning.

The upgrade will include mechanical system improvements in the existing hospital building and the expansion of the emergency and maternity departments.

The project’s final scope will be determined during the planning and design phase, with construction timelines to be set once a builder is appointed.
