Viatris Malaysia wins at Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards 2026

The company received national recognition for its culture-building programmes and large-scale community health screenings.

Viatris Malaysia won Employee Engagement of the Year - Malaysia and Most Differentiated Service of the Year - Malaysia in the Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards 2026.

For Employee Engagement of the Year - Malaysia, Viatris Malaysia implemented a structured soft skills learning curriculum that covers communication, leadership, productivity, change agility, and professional effectiveness. The programme supports employee growth and strengthens collaboration across teams. It complements an employee-led, company-funded sports and wellness initiative that encourages participation in bowling, Pilates, running, boxing, badminton, hiking, and other activities initiated by employees.

The engagement strategy aligns with its Great Place to Work certification and the company’s Be Bold culture transformation. Productivity and retention indicators are reviewed periodically to measure the impact of these programmes. Insights from these reviews guide refinements to ensure initiatives remain relevant and aligned with strategic goals. The company states that structured learning, wellness activities, and team-building efforts foster stronger commitment, higher participation in corporate initiatives, and a more cohesive workplace culture.

In the Most Differentiated Service of the Year - Malaysia category, Viatris Malaysia focused on addressing diabetes and cardiovascular disease in Malaysia through two large-scale community screening partnerships with Penang Adventist Hospital and Sunway Velocity Medical Centre.

The SweetCheck Campaign, conducted with Penang Adventist Hospital from 18 October to 17 November 2024 across 15 community halls in Penang, screened 3,170 participants against a target of 3,000. The campaign achieved a Malaysia Book of Records milestone for the Most Glucose Screening Tests conducted in a Community Health Campaign. The initiative positioned glucose checks as Know Your Number to reduce fear and encourage participation, with clear follow-up pathways for consultation and treatment.

Furthermore, the Pulse of Life Campaign, held with Sunway Velocity Medical Centre from 25 to 27 April 2025 at Sunway Velocity Mall, screened 827 participants over three days. It was recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for the Most Participants in an ECG Screening Test. The mall-based setting reduced barriers such as long wait times and travel inconvenience by bringing heart health services directly to the public. A 26-foot inflatable heart replica offered an educational walk-through experience to increase awareness of heart function and disease.
