The company was applauded for its Beyond The Wound podcast/vodcast series in Australia and its self-care campaign in Vietnam.
Urgo Medical won the Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year - Australia and Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year - Vietnam categories at the Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards 2025.
Beyond the Wound
Urgo Medical Australia launched its podcast and vodcast series “Beyond the Wound” in May 2023, which has become the first of its kind in the wound care space to offer both audio and video formats. It is hosted by clinical specialists Cassandra Hough and Tanya O’Hara, providing healthcare professionals with a dynamic and accessible learning platform.
The Beyond the Wound series is aligned with Urgo Medical’s mission to heal people, empower clinicians, and improve patient outcomes through education and innovation. It combines the expertise of Urgo Medical’s marketing and clinical teams and addresses critical topics in the field.
The primary goal of Beyond the Wound is to create an engaging educational platform that raises awareness and provides expert insights on wound care. Urgo Medical maximised its reach by implementing a multi-channel promotional strategy. It also used Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) campaigns, social media, and clinician advocacy to engage healthcare professionals effectively.
Results of the EDM campaign include a 5% Click-Through Rate (CTR), which exceeded industry benchmarks by 37.7%. The campaign also achieved outstanding engagement across LinkedIn and Meta platforms, with its followers reaching a 294% growth and engagement rates surging to 8.8%. The CTR for social media promotions exceeded expectations as well, reaching a 2% rate—221% higher than typical performance metrics.
The series also earned support from clinicians and healthcare advocates, earning 45 reposts from thought leaders in the wound care space such as Peta Tehan, Gary Bain and Michelle Kaminski.
Beyond the Wound has successfully delivered high-quality educational content and has fostered valuable collaborations with thought leaders.
Through strategy and impactful outreach, Beyond the Wound exemplifies how digital marketing innovation can create tangible value by empowering healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes.
Wound Care Awareness
Urgo Medical Vietnam’s Self-Care TikTok Campaign was launched in June 2023 and has since made a significant impact in transforming how wound care is understood and practiced in Vietnam. The campaign raises awareness about the benefits of advanced wound dressings over traditional options, and it focuses on key issues such as pain reduction, faster healing, lower infection rates, and minimised scarring.
Urgo Medical Vietnam partnered with eight influencers—three healthcare professionals (HCPs) and five lifestyle influencers. This collaboration brought a mix of professional insights and relatable content, helping to build trust while engaging a diverse audience.
It also banked on TikTok’s growing popularity amongst younger users, knowing it is an excellent choice for raising awareness on wound care. Urgo Medical Vietnam’s Self-Care TikTok Campaign featured bite-sized informative content that was both educational and relatable.
The campaign already reached 2.08 million people and earned 80,000 likes, comments, and shares. It also drove a 741% increase in website traffic.
The campaign boasts easily accessible content, which has then contributed to the increased inquiries about advanced wound care. This shows a clear shift in awareness and demand for better treatment options.
Urgo Medical Vietnam’s Self-Care TikTok Campaign successfully used digital innovation to address common patient concerns and offer practical advice. Such an initiative has empowered both patients and caregivers to adopt better wound care practices.
