Singapore Cancer Center Inc. by Curie Oncology recognised at Healthcare Asia Awards 2026

It combined survivorship care, integrative oncology, molecular diagnostics, and advanced therapeutics in one facility.

Singapore Cancer Center Inc. by Curie Oncology received accolades in the Integrated Healthcare Provider of the Year - Philippines and Specialty Clinic of the Year (Oncology) - Philippines categories at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026 for its integrated oncology care model and specialty cancer services in the Philippines.

The centre opened in Cebu City on 7 February 2025 after three years of development. The facility was established in response to the demand for expanded cancer care services in the Philippines, where more than 180,000 new cancer cases are recorded annually.

The nearly 1,000 square metre centre houses an infusion and advanced therapeutics unit with 10 beds and 10 recliners. The outpatient department includes nine clinics covering medical oncology, surgical oncology, survivorship care, integrative oncology, and family counselling. During 2025, the centre conducted 840 infusions and 2,600 outpatient consultations.

Clinical services incorporate a cancer survivorship programme integrated into routine treatment cycles. Patient assessments include screening for sleep quality, nutrition intake, pain score, psychosocial status, and co-morbidities using the ESMO Quality Issues in Oncology Practice Checklist. The centre also uses the InBody BWA 2.0 metabolic analyser to measure hydration status and lean muscle mass before treatment cycles.

The clinic operates an integrative oncology programme that evaluates herb-drug interactions and includes nutrition guidance, relaxation techniques, and caregiver fatigue monitoring as part of oncology care.

Facility design incorporates a HEPA-filter barrier system with MERV 8, MERV 13, and MERV 17 filtration and 12 air exchanges per hour. Chemotherapy preparation takes place in a compounding area equipped with an ESCO laminar flow isolator to protect pharmacy and nursing personnel.

Treatment options include access to all US FDA-approved targeted therapies and immunotherapies. The clinic can also obtain certain medications not yet commercially available in the Philippines through regulated import procedures.

The centre also functions as a molecular oncology hub serving the Visayas and Mindanao regions. Diagnostic collaboration takes place with laboratories including NextGen in Manila, SGH Pathology in Singapore, ACT Genomics in Taiwan, and Foundation One in Boston for immunostaining, next-generation sequencing, and genetic testing.
