Premier Integrated Labs takes home Healthcare Asia Awards 2024 for innovations, collaborations

Leading diagnostic provider Premier Integrated Labs (PIL) brought home the win in the Diagnostics Provider of the Year - Malaysia category at the recently held Healthcare Asia Awards 2024 for its successful year of technological innovations, international collaborations, public-private partnerships, and commitment to advancing healthcare education and research.

This is showcased through its i-Premier project, which digitises healthcare operations by streamlining manual and paper-based laboratory processes for B2B customers, offering efficient diagnostic test ordering, real-time sample tracking, and digital results access.

Beyond diagnostic tests, i-Premier integrates auxiliary services such as consumables ordering, digital results accessing, invoicing, logistics tracking, promotional news, and customer feedback to ensure a comprehensive and seamless end-to-end experience.

Meanwhile, PIL’s Histology and Cytology Labs have also embraced automation - and AI-based cervical screening for enhanced efficiency and precision. These initiatives highlight PIL's commitment to improving diagnostics, reducing turnaround times, and maintaining accuracy in medical evaluations.

Its endeavours in the realm of public-private partnerships have also been monumental. This includes the establishment of the first Antimicrobial Stewardship Centre of Excellence in ASEAN, which aligns with the global sustainability goals and emphasises collaboration to address antimicrobial resistance and set new standards in antimicrobial stewardship.

Its collaboration with the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia has also allowed for the fostering of innovative projects, industry-sharing sessions, and the development of copyrighted modules that significantly contribute to student development and research in biomedical science education throughout Malaysia.

PIL's partnership with the Ministry of Health and Institute for Medical Research in advancing research in Whole Exome Sequencing for Late-Onset Alzheimer's Disease also emphasises its dedication to research and innovation.

The company has also played a crucial role in enhancing access to Comprehensive Genomic Profiling by collaborating with Roche Pharmaceuticals and Roche Diagnostics to empower healthcare professionals and the public with comprehensive insights into the genetic makeup of cancers for personalised treatment options.

Its involvement in the LC-SCRUM-AP initiative, led by the National Cancer Center Japan, also represents a significant advancement in precision medicine for non-small cell lung cancer across the Asia Pacific. This initiative reflects PIL's commitment to advancing diagnostics by focusing on developing targeting agents, expanding genetic screening, and introducing innovative next-generation sequencing panels.
