Global Doctors Hospital innovates holistic healthcare through wellness programmes

The company took home two wins in the awards programme.

Over the past year, one-stop full service medical centre Global Doctors Hospital has launched several innovative ventures to broaden its specialty offerings and tackle the evolving healthcare demands. 

It has prioritised mental well-being and the promotion of a balanced lifestyle in recognition of the surge in mental health concerns and the necessity of addressing this issue more urgently.

As such, the hospital and its team of mental health consultants initiated extensive training programmes like the “Mental Health First Aid'' to educate individuals on recognising, understanding, and acting upon mental health and substance abuse issues. According to the hospital, its goal is to destigmatise mental health challenges and encourage early intervention by equipping the community with the essential tools for support.

Simultaneously, Global Doctors Hospital also established the “Global Doctors Health Engineering” to focus on preventive medicine. The programme is designed to address non-communicable diseases (NCD), which has been becoming a growing concern globally.

Through comprehensive health assessments, lifestyle modification plans, and targeted interventions, Global Doctors Health Engineering empowers individuals to take charge of their health, prevent the onset of NCDs, and promote overall wellness.

These innovative approaches have been recognised by the Healthcare Asia Awards, as Global Doctors Hospital brought home the Secondary Hospital of the Year - Malaysia for its holistic approach to healthcare, as exemplified by the Mental Health First Aid and the Global Doctors Health Engineering initiatives. It also bagged the Health and Wellness Initiative of the Year - Malaysia for the success of its programmes.
