CIMS Medica strengthens drug database with local insight
The firm leverages 40-year presence and client feedback to evolve products.
CIMS Medica, a long-standing player in medical drug information services, is doubling down on localisation and data-driven strategy to maintain relevance amidst technological shifts. Speaking at APHM, co-located with The Health Industry Series – ASEAN 2025 in Malaysia, the company outlined how it is adapting to evolving healthcare demands.
“The opportunity is, as we have our presence in the country… our product is largely accepted,” said Sonali Deshmukh, Associate Business Director-CDS, CIMS Medica. “We have to evolve… new things are coming into the market in terms of technology. We have to upgrade.”
Sandra Lee, Regional Business Development Manager at CDS Asia, added, “It’s keeping abreast with the changes as required… that will be the challenge.”
To stand out, the team points to two key differentiators: customer familiarity and localized support. “A lot of the pharmacies and the doctors are familiar with the brand name,” said Lee. “We can provide better and faster service to our clients with our local presence.”
“We provide a local database and local information about drugs to our customers,” Deshmukh added. “And our pricing is affordable—something every hospital can dream of.”
Their strategy moving forward hinges on adaptability and market responsiveness. “We listen to what the clients want, and then grow according to it,” said Lee.
