SNUH names new president and CEO
He will serve a three-year term from 13 May 2026, to 12 May 2029.
Seoul National University Hospital has appointed Professor Nam-Jong Paik as its 20th president and CEO.
His term runs for three years, from 13 May 2026, to 12 May 2029.
Paik graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1990 and completed his residency at SNUH. He has served as a professor at the college since 2001.
At Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, he previously held senior administrative roles including chief communications officer, chief finance & strategic officer, and chief public health officer.
He is a leading expert in neurorehabilitation, focusing on stroke recovery and neuromodulation technology. He currently serves as president-elect of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR), the first Korean to hold the position.
Paik also served as the founding president of the Asia-Oceanian Society for NeuroRehabilitation (AOSNR) and founding chairman of the Korean Telemedicine Society.
He has also held key clinical and academic posts, including Director of the Regional Cardiocerebrovascular Rehabilitation Center and Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Seoul National University College of Medicine.
The hospital said he is expected to strengthen its role as a national medical center and advance digital healthcare and medical innovation.
The appointment is made by the President of South Korea upon recommendation from the hospital’s board and nomination by the Minister of Education, with the possibility of one consecutive reappointment.
