Australian gov’t launches new virtual women’s health clinic
It offers free medical advice and treatment via phone or online.
The Allan Labor Government has launched a new virtual women’s health clinic, now available to all women and girls across Victoria.
The clinic offers free medical advice and treatment via phone or online, covering issues like endometriosis, menstrual problems, menopause, cervical screening, breast health, and abortion care.
Led by specialist nurses, the service aims to reduce barriers to healthcare—especially for women in regional and remote areas where access to services like contraception and abortion is limited.
Run in partnership with community health provider EACH, the clinic provides initial assessments, treatment, and referrals to local GPs or specialists. It also connects patients to support services for mental health, substance use, and family violence if needed.
The new virtual clinic operates alongside the state’s mobile women’s health clinic, which continues to deliver care across Victoria.
Managed by BreastScreen Victoria, the mobile clinic focuses on reproductive and sexual health, with targeted outreach to Aboriginal women.
Both services are part of the government’s $153m women’s health package.
The virtual clinic is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
