Australia expands Medicare incentives to increase GP bulk billing

The Australian Government has expanded Medicare bulk billing incentives and introduced the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP).

The initiative aims to increase the number of general practices offering bulk billing, making GP services more affordable for Australians. The changes could save families hundreds of dollars annually in out-of-pocket medical costs.

A national campaign is underway to inform Medicare patients that bulk billed care is more accessible and to help them find participating practices.

The campaign runs on TV, social media, digital, print, and search, with materials tailored for First Nations and multicultural communitie
