Burjeel adds sleep medicine to specialist portfolio in Abu Dhabi
The clinic will manage sleep apnoea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and circadian rhythm disorders.
Burjeel Medical City has launched a specialised sleep clinic to diagnose and treat sleep disorders, expanding its range of specialist healthcare services.
The clinic will diagnose and treat conditions including sleep apnoea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, and circadian rhythm disorders.
Care will be delivered by specialists in pulmonology, ear, nose and throat, neurology, cardiology, and psychiatry.
Services include specialist consultations, home and in-lab sleep studies known as polysomnography, treatments such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure and Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure, and individualised treatment plans.
Mujtaba Ali Khan, CEO of Burjeel Medical City, said the clinic expands the hospital's care offering and reflects its focus on patient-centred healthcare.
Humam Schakaki, consultant in sleep medicine and clinical lead of the sleep clinic, said the facility would use sleep study technologies and a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose conditions early and develop individualised treatment plans.
"By utilising the latest sleep study technologies and a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to diagnose conditions early and develop individualised treatment plans that help patients restore healthy sleep patterns and improve their quality of life," Schakaki said.
