The Australian Government is investing $20.8m (A$31.4m) in the Hospital in the Home programme, expanding access to home-based hospital care across Southern North South Wales.
The expansion includes wearable monitoring technology that allows clinicians to track vital signs in real-time.
The programme will be rolled out in the Bega Valley, Eurobodalla, Goulburn, and Queanbeyan regions. Future expansions will include Snowy Monaro and Yass Valley communities.
It is led by a medical officer and nurse practitioners and will support paediatric, palliative, and aged care patients with conditions including cellulitis, pneumonia, deep vein thrombosis, and urinary tract infections.
