Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick opens in Australia

The facility supports a ‘whole of campus’ approach.

The new Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, featuring Australia’s first children’s comprehensive cancer centre, has welcomed its first patients.

The facility enhances connections within the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct, employing a ‘whole of campus’ approach.

The hospital features single-occupancy patient rooms, multi-purpose family spaces, and the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre, which integrates clinical care with translational research laboratories.

Meanwhile, a new bridge links the hospital to the POWH Main Acute Services Building and the UNSW Health Translation Hub.

The design was informed by consultations with over 2,000 stakeholders, including patients, carers, clinicians, and First Nations representatives.

The project was developed in partnership with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Children’s Cancer Institute, John Holland, Health Infrastructure, and Billard Leece Partnership.
