Mernda Community Hospital opens in Victoria, Australia

The facility will introduce services in phases.

Mernda Community Hospital in Victoria is set to open and receive patients on 24 November, according to the Australian Government.

The hospital will introduce services in phases. Initial offerings include pharmacy, public dental, pathology, allied health, paediatric clinics, and respiratory and allergy services.

Renal care and community mental health will be added in the new year, followed by urgent care, imaging, and further pathology services.

The facility, together with Craigieburn Community Hospital, aims to ease demand on Northern Hospital in Epping, with the Northern Melbourne region currently having a population of over one million and projected to grow by more than 74% by 2036.
