New Zealand’s Whangārei Hospital parking expansion underway
The project will add 552 parking spaces.
The procurement process for a major carpark extension has begun at Whangārei Hospital as part of the site’s ongoing redevelopment.
Health New Zealand is seeking a civil contractor to construct an on-grade extension to the existing facility, which will add 552 parking spaces.
“The carparks at Whangārei Hospital are already at capacity, and the construction of the new Child Health Centre, limited street parking nearby, and growing demand are adding further pressure,” said Acting Health Minister Matt Doocey.
Moreover, the project includes upgraded infrastructure and improved wayfinding.
The expansion will be completed ahead of the construction of the hospital’s new Acute Services Building.
