Australian gov’t invests $6.2m in new Ipswich transit care centre

The facility will double the capacity of the existing lounge.

The Australian government is investing $6.2m (A$9.6m) to establish a transit care centre for Ipswich Hospital in Queensland.

The new centre will double the capacity of the existing transit lounge, increasing from five beds and eight chairs to ten beds and fourteen chairs.

The facility will also include a centralised location for Queensland Ambulance Service pick-ups and drop-offs.

The centre is expected to be completed by June next year.
