Taupō Hospital expands chemotherapy services in New Zealand
The long-term plan is to boost services at the hospital to five days a week.
Taupō Hospital has expanded its chemotherapy services for cancer patients, according to New Zealand Health Minister Simeon Brown.
“For the first time in over 20 years, Taupō Hospital’s chemotherapy clinic has doubled its operating days and now runs two days a week,” Brown said.
The long-term plan is to boost services at the hospital to five days a week.
“This expansion reflects growing demand, driven by the government’s $360m (NZ$604m) investment in Pharmac to fund new cancer medicines and treatments,” the minister added.
