Task group evaluates proposals for third medical school
Expert advisors initiated the next phase of work.
The Task Group on New Medical School, co-chaired by Secretary for Health Professor Lo Chung-mau and Secretary for Education Dr Choi Yuk-lin, held its fourth meeting to evaluate proposals for Hong Kong’s third medical school.
Expert advisors assessed the submissions and initiated the next phase of work to conduct a thorough study of the funding arrangements and financial sustainability of the proposals.
A final recommendation on establishing the new school is expected to be provided to the government later this year.
From May to June, the task group conducted two rounds of meetings with the three universities that submitted proposals: the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
