Construction on the $724.1m (A$1.1b) redevelopment of Frankston Hospital is progressing, with the new main entrance and reception area unveiled, according to the Australian government.
The clinical services tower’s structure and exterior facade have been completed, whilst internal fit-out works and equipment testing are underway.
The tower will add 130 beds to the hospital and feature a new operating theatre suite, expanded women’s and children’s services, a medical imaging department, new spaces for mental health, and oncology services.
Meanwhile, the hospital’s existing emergency department is also being expanded, featuring a new reception area and larger triage space.
A multi-storey car park offering about 675 extra spaces is also being built to improve accessibility.
