Ascom integrates medical devices into nurse call systems
The firm differentiates through alarm-linked mobility features.
Ascom is pushing the boundaries of nurse call systems by integrating medical device data and alarms into a unified mobility solution. Speaking at the APHM, co-located with The Health Industry Series – ASEAN 2025 in Malaysia, Mohd Fairuz Bin Harun, Head of Sales for Asia, said Ascom’s system stands out through seamless integration.
“Our nurse call system can do medical device integrations,” said Fairuz. “Instead of only having a nurse call system, you can have a very prominent setup that sends alarm data to mobility. No one else offers that.”
He noted that client and patient acceptance of Ascom’s ICT healthcare products is a key strength. “They really enjoy our product,” he said, adding that Ascom’s “bread and butter” remains its best-selling nurse call solution.
The company’s current markets include both government and private hospitals in Malaysia and Singapore. “We’re now in Vietnam and the Philippines,” said Fairuz. “We are trying to penetrate a few markets like Cambodia and Myanmar.”
