Maryborough Hospital upgrade reaches completion in Victoria, Australia

The facility is expected to accommodate 4,000 more patients annually.

The Australian government has announced the completion of the upgraded Maryborough and District Hospital in Victoria, marked by the opening of a new facility valued at $73.5m (A$115m).

The upgrade includes a new urgent care centre, a 32-bed inpatient unit, two operating theatres, and recovery areas.

The hospital also houses a new day medical centre offering imaging, pharmacy, oncology, dialysis, and infusion services.

The facility is expected to accommodate 4,000 more patients each year. Moreover, additional funding was announced to bring the facility fully online.
