DoH Abu Dhabi inks MoU to advance precision medicine, genomic research
The partnership will establish genomic infrastructure and population health programmes.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has signed a memorandum of understanding with several partnering organisations to advance precision medicine and genomic research in the Emirate.
The agreement involves collaboration between DoH, PureHealth, Khalifa University of Technology, Illumina, M42, the Institute for Healthier Living Abu Dhabi, and New York University Abu Dhabi.
The multi-stakeholder partnership will focus on establishing genomic infrastructure and population health programmes tailored to Emirati and regional populations.
It will focus on launching research and development initiatives in advanced therapeutics such as gene therapy and cell-based treatments and support the integration of precision medicine into clinical practice.
Moreover, the collaboration will build artificial intelligence and digital platforms for genomic data analysis and personalised patient care, along with education and training pathways to develop local expertise.
