Regency Specialist Hospital wins Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for marketing initiative

Unlike conventional screening programmes, Regency’s campaign centred on community-centric education and proactive health empowerment.

Regency Specialist Hospital (Regency) nabbed the Marketing Initiative of the Year - Malaysia category win at the coveted Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for successfully executing the Mass HbA1c Diabetes Screening, reinforcing its commitment to preventive healthcare.

The large-scale public health initiative aims to raise awareness about diabetes and its risks, provide accessible and free screenings to encourage early detection, offer immediate consultations and guidance from healthcare professionals to empower individuals with knowledge for better diabetes management, strengthen community engagement, and build trust in Regency's commitment to proactive healthcare services.

The hospital conducted 3,956 free HbA1c diabetes screenings throughout the year, with an impressive 3,148 screenings completed in just three days during the Diabetes Care Community Screening in June 2024—an achievement that secured a place in the Malaysia Book of Records.

In enabling this outcome, it has leveraged digital marketing, PR coverage, and community outreach to maximise engagement and participation. It has also partnered with local businesses offering health-related discounts, enriching the event's experience.

Unlike conventional screening programmes, Regency's marketing strategy focussed on breaking records to create buzz, driving participation and media coverage, personalised healthcare education through one-on-one consultations and digital engagement, as well as partnership-driven outreach, leveraging businesses and stakeholders to promote holistic health awareness.

The record-breaking event has raised public consciousness about diabetes risks, especially amongst young adults. It has also garnered extensive media attention, positioning Regency as a leader in community healthcare initiatives.

“The Mass HbA1c Diabetes Screening was more than just a health initiative; it was a high-impact marketing success that not only set records but also reinforced Regency’s role as a trusted healthcare provider. By combining strategic marketing, innovative outreach, and meaningful community engagement, this campaign exemplified excellence in healthcare marketing,” the company said.

Healthcare Asia Awards honours exceptional hospitals across the region that have redefined the standards of excellence in the industry through their innovative solutions and substantial contributions to communities.
