BreastScreen NSW implements machine reading tech for mammography
The tech will provide radiologists with supplementary analysis for cancer detection.
Australia’s BreastScreen NSW has adopted machine reading technology to assist radiologists in analysing mammography images.
The technology underwent a study by BreastScreen NSW to evaluate its accuracy and efficacy and confirmed that the machine reading produced results comparable to the existing programme without compromising cancer detection rates.
Meanwhile, radiologists will continue to review every mammography image, with the tech providing supplementary analysis for cancer detection.
