Singapore unveils Woodlands Health Campus for tertiary care

One of its features includes a long-term care tower with almost 400 beds.

Singapore’s newly opened Woodlands Health (WH) Campus is set to provide tertiary care to the country’s Northern region.

The 7.66-hectare (ha) campus encompasses a 1,000-bed integrated acute and community hospital and a medical centre housing specialist clinics.

Moreover, the campus features an almost 400-bed capacity long-term care tower which includes a nursing home and senior care centre operated by Ren Ci Hospital.

According to Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the campus was designed to offer residents of Woodlands, Sembawang, Choa Chu Kang, and nearby areas convenient access to acute hospital services.

“They will no longer have to travel all the way to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) or Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), they can come here,” Lee said.

He further mentioned that their team engaged with residents and community partners during the project’s design process, resulting in an open-concept healthcare campus integrated with the 1.7-ha Woodlands Healing Garden, managed by the National Parks Board.

“This creates a calming and inviting environment, where patients can undergo green therapy,” Lee added.
