Remote surgical assistance to advance with AI integration in telehealth

Live streaming and AI-driven analytics could contribute to the tool’s transformation.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in telehealth systems is driving the transformation of remote surgical assistance, according to GlobalData.

“Surgeries, which were challenging previously, can now be performed by surgeons directly and remotely on patients,” GlobalData’s Medical Analyst, Elia Garcia, said.

Garcia also noted that the large volumes of patient data from remote patient monitoring devices can be utilised to spot patterns or problems during surgery.

Meanwhile, the report mentioned that the AI market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35.2% until 2030.

“As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, live streaming and AI-driven analytics are two innovations that could completely transform remote surgical assistance, ultimately helping patients, surgeons, and healthcare systems,” Garcia added.
