What’s driving the global gastric cancer diagnostics market?

One key trend is the integration of molecular diagnostics such as next-generation sequencing.

The increasing global incidence of gastric cancer is driving the sector to expand at a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7% by 2030, said DelveInsight.

The report said that the gastric cancer diagnostics market’s expansion is also fuelled by a rising prevalence of GERD and other stomach-related conditions, along with a growing number of infections such as H. Pylori and gastroenteritis.

Meanwhile, the market is undergoing a shift amidst technological advancements and a growing emphasis on early detection.

Traditional techniques such as endoscopy and biopsy are being complemented and replaced by new, non-invasive technologies, including liquid biopsy and advanced imaging.

“A significant dynamic in the market is the integration of molecular diagnostics, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), which allows for the detection of specific genetic mutations and biomarkers associated with gastric cancer,” the report said.

Furthermore, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are being integrated into imaging and pathology tools to analyse large datasets, identify patterns, and make predictions to assist clinicians.
