What factors challenge the global N95 respirators market?

Leading manufacturers have issued multiple warnings regarding counterfeit products.

Rising availability of counterfeit products poses a challenge to the global N95 respirators market, which is projected to grow by $390.9m until 2028 at a compounded annual growth rate of almost 5.5%, said Technavio.

The lack of stringent anti-counterfeit legislation in countries such as China, India, and Thailand exacerbates the problem for vendors, along with insufficient oversight within local supply chains.

Leading manufacturers have issued multiple warnings regarding counterfeit N95 respirators, citing numerous reports and complaints. These items are often developed from substandard materials, posing heightened risks of increased transmission of infections.

In addition to counterfeit challenges, the sector grapples with the rising demand for protective equipment, particularly against airborne diseases.

“Key challenges include ensuring a proper face fit, managing exhalation resistance, and addressing drug shops, hospital pharmacies, retail stores, and e-commerce platforms as distribution channels,” the report said.
