The majority were comfortable receiving AI information from their doctor.
Most Australians would prefer to hear about artificial intelligence (AI) in their healthcare directly from their doctors, according to a Royal Philips report.
The majority (79%) responded that they would be most comfortable receiving information about AI from their doctor, compared to news outlets (48%) or social media (31%).
Meanwhile, more than half (53%) worry that the tech could reduce direct interaction with doctors, despite 66% supporting the use of technology to improve healthcare.
Only 43% said they were optimistic about AI in healthcare, compared to 85% of healthcare providers.
However, 77% of healthcare professionals also raised concerns about liability for AI errors.
