Sunway Medical Centre is first Malaysian private hospital to perform BTVA

The procedure is used to treat chronic lung conditions like emphysema.

Sunway Medical Centre in Sunway City has become the first private hospital in Malaysia to perform Bronchoscopic Thermal Vapor Ablation (BTVA).

BTVA involves inserting a thin tube through the patient’s nose or mouth into the lungs, where heated vapour is delivered to the most damaged lung tissue, causing it to shrink.

The minimally invasive procedure is used to treat patients with chronic lung conditions such as emphysema.
