South Korea expands coverage of cancer data resource

The resource’s coverage has been extended to include data from 2020.

South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) has announced an expansion in the data coverage of the K-CURE Public Cancer Library, allowing researchers access to 2.26 million anonymised datasets.

The library’s coverage, previously limited from 2012 to 2019, has now been extended to include data from 2020.

This includes anonymised information on cancer patients such as registration, screening, and medical use.

In line with this, researchers can request access to the required records through the K-CURE portal.

Furthermore, data can be utilised within Safe Utilisation Centres after a review process ensuring appropriate anonymisation and evaluating research necessity.
