Saudi’s MOH temporarily shuts down surgery unit amidst labour law violation

The precautionary closure will be in place until the violation is rectified.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that a one-day surgery unit at a private medical complex in Riyadh has been temporarily closed due to labour law violations.

According to the ministry, the facility has employed several people with no licence to practice health professions.

The precautionary closure will be in place until rectification of the violation as per the provisions of Article 23 of the Private Health Institutions Law and its executive regulations.

Furthermore, the MOH stressed the necessity of adhering to the requirements contained in the health regulations.

The organisation cited Article Two of the Law of Practicing Healthcare Professions which affirmed the prohibition of practising any health profession except after obtaining a licence.
