Qatar adopts AI-driven solution for breast cancer screening programme

The disease accounts for 32% of all female cancer cases in the country.

Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), through a five-year partnership with Lunit, has integrated an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solution into Qatar’s national breast screening initiative.

The collaboration allows PHCC to integrate the Lunit INSIGHT MMG solution into the “Screen for Life” programme to enhance early detection of breast cancer, potentially reducing missed diagnoses and improving survival rates in the country.

According to PHCC’s Early Detection Programmes Director, Dr Sheikha Abu Sheikha, breast cancer accounts for 32% of all female cancer cases in Qatar.

“As the first country in the Middle East to implement AI across the entire screening programme, we're reinforcing Qatar's commitment to high-quality healthcare for women across the country," Sheikha added.
