New renal unit opens at Queensland’s Longreach Hospital

The facility is designed to offer multiple dialysis sessions.

The Australian government has announced the opening of a new Central West Renal Unit at Longreach Hospital in Queensland.

The three-chair, nurse-assisted unit is designed to offer multiple dialysis sessions to patients three times a week.  

The facility is part of the government’s $6.8m (A$10.87m) investment in hospital upgrades.
