India’s Ruby General Hospital plans expanding capacity to 556 beds

An additional 200 beds will be introduced to the facility’s current capacity.

Ruby General Hospital in Kolkata, Bengal has announced its plans to expand its bed capacity to 556 by year’s end.

This initiative would mean procuring an additional 200 beds to the hospital’s current capacity of 356.

Apart from its current plan, the hospital also aims to increase by a further 200 beds in 2025.

Meanwhile, its unit in Eastern India, the Ruby Cancer Centre, is set to introduce the Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, Version 3.0.

According to the hospital, the new technology features a modern contouring system and Eclipse version 18 planning system. 

This aligns with Ruby General Hospital chairman, Kamal Dutta’s statement emphasising the importance of preventive oncology and screening for early cancer detection.
