India’s Omega Hospitals adopts robotic system for targeted radiation therapy
The technology promotes precise cancer treatment with minimal side effects.
Omega Hospitals in India has adopted the CyberKnife VSI Robotic Radiosurgery system to administer non-invasive radiation therapy for cancer patients.
According to the hospital, the system allows for accurate and precise treatment by utilising advanced imaging and tracking technology to target high radiation doses directly to the patient’s tumour whilst reducing potential damage to healthy tissues.
In line with this, the technology offers shorter treatment times, often completed within five sessions whilst reducing possible side effects from the therapy.
Moreover, the hospital utilises the technology in various types of cancers, including brain, lung, prostate, liver, and spine, as well as non-cancerous tumours.
