Hospital Authority to establish committee for governance, and structural reforms

The HA will focus on governance, accountability, and safety culture.

The Hospital Authority (HA) is set to establish a high-level Governance and Structural Reform Committee to provide advice on governance and structural reforms, following the release of the Review Committee on the Management of the Public Hospital System’s report.

In a statement, the HA has accepted the review's 31 recommendations, which focus on improving governance, patient safety, and accountability within Hong Kong's public hospitals.

Meanwhile, the new Reform Committee will be chaired by HA Chairman Henry Fan and will include representatives from the Health Bureau and experts in corporate governance.

The HA plans to gradually implement the recommendations to strengthen public hospital management and ensure the system meets the growing needs of the community.

Moreover, it will follow through on the remaining recommendations within its existing structure, with progress reports regularly submitted to both the Health Bureau and HA Board.
