Here’s what to expect with Australia’s Canterbury Hospital redevelopment
Key features include a larger intensive care unit and an upgraded emergency department.
The Australian government has unveiled the master plan images for the $217m (A$350m) Canterbury Hospital redevelopment, along with the key clinical priorities for the project.
The redevelopment will introduce new and expanded services, including a larger intensive care unit, purpose-built adult inpatient accommodation, an upgraded emergency department, and additional surgical theatres.
Moreover, antenatal care, ambulatory services, and outpatient capacity will also be expanded.
Other planned upgrades include enhancements to existing facilities, improved accessibility across the hospital campus, and better internal access, urban spaces, landscaping, and wayfinding.
The project will proceed to planning and design, with further consultation set to continue throughout the year.
