Heart closure devices market to rise at 7% CAGR through 2030

One key driver is the rising incidence of congenital heart defects.

The global heart closure devices market is expected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 7% through 2030, according to DelveInsight.

The sector’s expansion is fuelled by a growing demand for effective and less invasive therapeutic options amidst the increasing incidence of congenital heart defects.

Meanwhile, technological innovation is driving growth, with recent advancements focused on achieving more precise and safer procedures.

“Advanced imaging techniques and better delivery systems have improved the accuracy of device placement, minimising risks and improving patient outcomes,” the report said.

In line with this, biocompatible materials integration has further reduced complications, such as device-related thrombosis and infection, promoting wider adoption in clinical practice.

Regulatory approvals, along with favourable reimbursement policies, have also contributed to the market’s expansion.

For instance, devices are increasingly being approved for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation who are unsuitable for anticoagulant therapy.

“These approvals not only validate the safety and efficacy of the devices but also open up new patient segments, thereby expanding the market,” the report added.
